Mistakes Were Made
One aspect that I’ve been really excited to tackle in this rebrand is new packaging. After many browses on Etsy, I decided on a laser-on-chipboard look. As luck would have it, my friend Josh just purchased a laser cutting machine and was willing to help me bring this idea to life. He also connected me with my screen printer for past graphic designs, and executed the embroidery on my 828 ball caps. I went to Michael’s to find some 12 x 12 and we both totally glazed over the clear disclosure not to use for engraving.
So what’s the worst that could happen?
They came out a little charred, haha.
A few came out decent enough that I will attempt to sand off the soot around the edges to not -completely- waste that material. The other mistake made was that I forgot to ‘create outlines’ in Adobe on some of my text. He has since sourced a better suited material and I have corrected my file.
I also needed to move forward with new business cards. My new real estate firm uses Henco Reprographics in Asheville for our business cards. Something that immediately caught my eye on their website is that they really like to get orders out same-day or next-day. This offering saved me before my first show of the year and makes it SO EASY to source locally going forward.
